WHAT IS THIS “SCRIP” THING??
1. Scrip is one of the easiest, ongoing fundraisers at WCS.
2. You are buying cards for products you will be purchasing anyway.
3. You earn easy $$ for the school, as well as earning your own tuition break.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Do you buy gas? Do you buy clothes or groceries? How about gifts? Of course we all do! Then, why not earn money for your own tuition break and for the school while performing all the above?
Scrip is a fund raising program where schools and non-profits buy cards through Great Lakes Scrip at a reduced rate, representing nationwide merchants. The school can earn from 2%-25% commission with each card purchased. You are buying gift cards at face value and you use them just like money at the merchant of your choice!
Our school has a “tuition share” aspect to the SCRIP program. Once your family has earned $75 of commission you qualify for the tuition share. That means that every amount of commission you get over that $75, 25% of your total commission will be applied to your June tuition. Every year that I have been at WCS I have qualified for money off my June tuition! How would you like to have some money taken off your June tuition just for buying gift cards for your normal purchases during the school year??
What do you need to do to begin? Two options:
1. Pick up an order form from the office or off the website. Fill it out for your purchasing choices. Write a check for the full amount to Westgate PTN and turn it into the office. We place an order every other Monday and the cards are dispersed on Friday. During the Holiday months we send out orders every Monday!
2. Online ordering directly. Talk with Mrs. Bryan for specific details. Key cold for our school is: 2L6E98B81LL44 and the website is: www.glscrip.com
It only takes a bit of planning ahead to get the most from Scrip. Start buying now for Christmas gifts, date nights or home improvement projects. Every purchase you make will help our school, plus it adds to your tuition break in June. If you have any questions at all about this program or ordering, feel free to stop me in the hall or give me a call! My phone number is 509-701-0915.
Blessings,
Kim Heinrich
