Westgate Christian School is a cooperative service of Westgate Christian Church, where the school is operated. There is a School Ministry Team that serves as oversight in all school matters and acts as the school board. This team is comprised of Westgate Christian Church members, some of whom are WCS parents. The School Ministry Team is approved and overseen by the Elders of Westgate Christian Church. The Director administrates the school and is the main point-of-contact for the parents to the school. We carefully select workers and helpers who staff our programs.

History of Westgate Christian School
Westgate Christian School began in 1990 as a ministry and outreach of Westgate Christian Church. It was the dream and vision of Rhea Day, a member of Westgate Christian Church to have a preschool at Westgate. For the first few years, Rhea served as the Director and also a teacher. The first year that Westgate Christian School was in existence, it was a four-year-old pre-kindergarten class. In the years after that, a three-year-old preschool class and a kindergarten were added, and then a grade every year through sixth grade. During the 2004-2005 school year we added a Middle School for 7th and 8th graders.
Westgate Christian School is able to reach out to so many children and families from the community through this exciting, life-changing, God-oriented ministry! Most of the children at Westgate Christian School come from Christian families, so the school is able to reinforce at school daily the standards and values that parents are teaching the children at home to bring them to a knowledge of Jesus and a relationship with Him. The school ministry at Westgate is ministering daily to help children not only to recognize God's love for them, but to help equip them with the tools to live their lives for Jesus. This is done, not only in Bible time, but also through every subject taught. For those children who don't come from Christian families, what an awesome outreach the ministry becomes for Jesus Christ! The ministry of Westgate Christian School is making a difference, planting seeds, and doing God's work that will bear fruit for eternity!
WESTGATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL MINISTRY TEAM
The School Ministry Team serves as the school board for Westgate Christian School. The team is made up of members of Westgate Christian Church, some of whom have children attending the school. The team is responsible for setting school policies, overseeing the teachers and staff, hiring necessary staff, and other duties of a school board. The School Ministry team is made up of the following members: Ryan Muchow, Trina Bair, Evelyn Blake, Bob Buckley, Pam Ford, Mendi Juntunen, Marty Lund, Tracy Ware, and Dennis White.
